REVENUE, MARKETING & BUSINESS ANALYST
An adroit, technical & tenacious data analyst.
"I bring a personality & intent to illuminate data; making it fun & engaging without losing its meaning or insight."

A little bit about me
I have been working in the corporate travel sector since 2022, firstly at FCM and currently at Reed and Mackay.
I worked in the energy sector for 5 years at Aggreko
during a period of global focus on 'green' energy transition.
I helped to build algorithms at Microsoft and for MTV,
through audience and streaming industry analysis,
just as personalised content was emerging.

My career to date spans sixteen years of experience across data analysis, visualization, strategy and giving numbers meaning across revenue, marketing and business data sets.
I work to a rhythm of meaningful and actionable insights, communicating the nuance of numbers in engaging and digestible ways, whilst cultivating a data-driven environment.
I appreciate the world of data can at times be disengaging, though I approach this with a calm nature & logical disposition, knitted together with an affable, down-to-earth nature.

IT'S MORE THAN JUST ANALYSIS
By it's very nature, data should be transparent, democratic and importantly, questioned.
The role of an analyst is of course to deliver meaningful and actionable insights, but it should always reflect a truth and not a narrative. Therefore analysis becomes more; an investigation, a piece of critical thinking, not simply stating the obvious but the nuance and quirks behind the numbers.
When a business asks a question that requires data, an analyst should not simply try to answer that question in a functional way. The responsibility lies in as much to illuminate the story, context, variables and consideration given to arriving at a piece of analysis.
I don't just seek to deliver a report or a dashboard, I'm driven by answering questions and delivering insights beyond the obvious, asking questions back to the business and presenting active alternative thinking rather than a standard passive corporate mindset.
IT'S MORE THAN JUST REPORTING
For all the technical skillset an analyst may posses, the overarching imperative aspect of delivering reporting is communication.
Current corporate culture encourages a self-service of data at the best of times, but numbers flickering of a spreadsheet are meaningless without concise communication on what's behind them.
Therefore, I feel it's important to communicate anything remotely data related within a business in the least technical and most simplest way possible. Even more so, the verbal communication of methodologies, calculations, how insights were derived; it should be done in a warm, affable, engaging manner.
I feel that cultivating a down-to-earth approach to reporting within a business affects related aspects; platform management, c-suite reporting, day-to-day analysis and presentations in a positive way. Never lose the substance of data, keep it humble and engaging.
